Danae Kotsi-Golanda is a ceramic artist based in Athens, Greece.
Her work revolves around the idea of storytelling through form and illustration.

Inspired by tales and myths, her art is elaboratively illustrated, portraying stories which result in exuberant, fantastical scenes that complement the vessel’s flowing movement.

Others works, reflect Grecian simplicity, using linear forms and simple ornamentation, while nature is almost always rendered in her art.

Danae is fueled by her love for the history of arts and crafts, from Archaic patterns and Elizabethan needlework to illuminated medieval manuscripts and patterns of William Morris.

All vessels are hand-built and hand-painted, using oxide underglazes, an ancient recipe, which creates a unique colour palette.

Her passion for mastering and experimenting with new hand building techniques, underpaint recipes and glazes is a never ending story.
